1. Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

3. And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
3. qu`ils ont tous mangé le même aliment spirituel,
3. Ary izy rehetra nihinana ny fihinam-panahy iray ihany,
4. And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
4. et qu`ils ont tous bu le même breuvage spirituel, car ils buvaient à un rocher spirituel qui les suivait, et ce rocher était Christ.

5. But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
5. Mais la plupart d`entre eux ne furent point agréables à Dieu, puisqu`ils périrent dans le désert.
5. Nefa ny ankabiazany dia tsy sitrak’Andriamanitra, fa naringana tany an' efitra.
6. Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
6. Or, ces choses sont arrivées pour nous servir d`exemples, afin que nous n`ayons pas de mauvais désirs, comme ils en ont eu.

7. Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
7. "Ne devenez point idolâtres, comme quelques-uns d`eux, selon qu`il est écrit: Le peuple s`assit pour manger et pour boire; puis ils se levèrent pour se divertir."
7. Ary aoka tsy ho mpanompo sampy ianareo tahaka ny sasany tamin’ireny, araka ny voasoratra hoe: “Ny olona nipetraka hihinana sy hisotro, dia nitsangana hilalao”
8. Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
8. Ne nous livrons point à l`impudicité, comme quelques-uns d`eux s`y livrèrent, de sorte qu`il en tomba vingt-trois mille en un seul jour.
8. Ary aoka tsy hanao fahavetavetana isika tahaka ny sasany tamin’ireny, ka telo arivo amby roa alina no ringana indray andro.
9. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
9. Ne tentons point le Seigneur, comme le tentèrent quelques-uns d`eux, qui périrent par les serpents.
9. Ary aoka tsy haka fanahy an’i Kristy isika, tahaka ny nakan’ny sasany tamin’ireny fanahy Azy, ka matin’ny menarana.
10. Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
10. Ne murmurez point, comme murmurèrent quelques-uns d`eux, qui périrent par l`exterminateur.
10. Ary aoka tsy himonomonona ianareo tahaka ny sasany tamin’ireny, izay matin’ny mpandringana.
11. Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
11. Ces choses leur sont arrivées pour servir d`exemples, et elles ont été écrites pour notre instruction, à nous qui sommes parvenus à la fin des siècles.
11. Ary izany zavatra rehetra izany dia nanjo azy ireo mba ho ohatra, sady voasoratra izany ho fananarana antsika izay iharan’ny faran’izao tontolo izao.
12. Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
12. Ainsi donc, que celui qui croit être debout prenne garde de tomber!
12. Koa izay manao azy fa efa mijoro tsara, dia aoka izy hitandrina, fandrao ho lavo.
13. There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
13. "Aucune tentation ne vous est survenue qui n`ait été humaine, et Dieu, qui est fidèle, ne permettra pas que vous soyez tentés au delà de vos forces; mais avec la tentation il préparera aussi le moyen d`en sortir, afin que vous puissiez la supporter."
13. "Tsy misy fakampanahy nahazo anareo afa-tsy izay zakan’ny olombelona; nefa mahatoky Andriamanitra ka tsy hamela anareo halaim-panahy mihoatra noho izay zakanareo; fa ny momba ny fakampanahy dia hasiany lalana hahafahanareo koa mba hahazakanareo izany."
14. Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
14. C`est pourquoi, mes bien-aimés, fuyez l`idolâtrie.
14. Koa amin’izany, ry malala, mandosira ny fanompoan-tsampy.
15. I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.
15. "Je parle comme à des hommes intelligents; jugez vous-mêmes de ce que je dis."
15. "Miteny toy ny amin’olon-kendry aho; tsaraonareo izay lazaiko."
16. The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
16. La coupe de bénédiction que nous bénissons, n`est-elle pas la communion au sang de Christ? Le pain que nous rompons, n`est-il pas la communion au corps de Christ?
16. Ny kapoaky ny fisaorana izay isaorantsika, tsy fiombonana amin’ny ran’i Kristy va izany? Ny mofo izay vakintsika, tsy fiombonana amin’ny tenan’i Kristy va izany?
17. For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
17. "Puisqu`il y a un seul pain, nous qui sommes plusieurs, nous formons un seul corps; car nous participons tous à un même pain."

18. Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?
18. Voyez les Israélites selon la chair: ceux qui mangent les victimes ne sont-ils pas en communion avec l`autel?
18. "Indreo ny Isiraely araka ny nofo; moa izay mihinana ny fanatitra tsy mpiombona amin’ny alitara va?"
19. What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?
19. Que dis-je donc? Que la viande sacrifiée aux idoles est quelque chose, ou qu`une idole est quelque chose? Nullement.
19. Inona àry no holazaiko? Mety ho tena zavatra va ny sampy, na tena zavatra va izay atao sorona ho an’ny sampy?
20. But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.
20. "Je dis que ce qu`on sacrifie, on le sacrifie à des démons, et non à Dieu; or, je ne veux pas que vous soyez en communion avec les démons."
20. "Nefa hoy aho, fa izay zavatra aterin’ny Jentilisa ho fanatitra, dia ataony fanatitra ho an’ny devoly fa tsy ho an’Andriamanitra; koa tsy tiako ho mpiombona amin’ny devoly ianareo."
21. Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.
21. "Vous ne pouvez boire la coupe du Seigneur, et la coupe des démons; vous ne pouvez participer à la table du Seigneur, et à la table des démons."
21. "Tsy mahazo misotro amin’ny kapoaky ny Tompo sy ny kapoaky ny devoly ianareo; tsy mahazo mihinana amin’ny latabatry ny Tompo sy ny latabatry ny devoly ianareo."
22. Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
22. Voulons-nous provoquer la jalousie du Seigneur? Sommes-nous plus forts que lui?
22. Mampahasaro-piaro ny Tompo va isika? Mahery noho Izy va isika?
23. All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.
23. "Tout est permis, mais tout n`est pas utile; tout est permis, mais tout n`édifie pas."
23. "Ny zavatra rehetra azoko atao, nefa tsy ny zavatra rehetra no mahasoa; ny zavatra rehetra azoko atao, nefa tsy ny zavatra rehetra no mampandroso."
24. Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth.
24. Que personne ne cherche son propre intérêt, mais que chacun cherche celui d`autrui.
24. Aoka tsy hisy olona hitady ny hahasoa ny tenany, fa ny hahasoa ny namany.
25. Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake:
25. "Mangez de tout ce qui se vend au marché, sans vous enquérir de rien par motif de conscience;"
25. "Izay rehetra amidy eny amin' ny mpivarokena dia hano, fa aza manontany akory noho ny fieritreretana;"
26. For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof.
26. car la terre est au Seigneur, et tout ce qu`elle renferme.
26. Fa “an’i Jehovah ny tany sy izay rehetra eo aminy”
27. If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.
27. Si un non-croyant vous invite et que vous vouliez aller, mangez de tout ce qu`on vous présentera, sans vous enquérir de rien par motif de conscience.
27. Ary raha misy amin’ny tsy mino manasa anareo, ka te-handeha ianareo, dia hano izay arosony eo anoloanareo, fa aza manontany akory noho ny fieritreretana.
28. But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof:
28. Mais si quelqu`un vous dit: Ceci a été offert en sacrifice! n`en mangez pas, à cause de celui qui a donné l`avertissement, et à cause de la conscience.
28. "Fa raha misy manao aminareo hoe: Naterina tamin’ny sampy io, dia aza homana noho ny amin’ilay nilaza sy ny fieritreretana; fa an’i Jehovah ny tany sy izay rehetra eo aminy"
29. Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another man's conscience?
29. Je parle ici, non de votre conscience, mais de celle de l`autre. Pourquoi, en effet, ma liberté serait-elle jugée par une conscience étrangère?
29. "Fieritreretana, hoy aho, tsy ny an’ny tenanao, fa ny an’ny olon-kafa; fa nahoana ny fahafahako no dia tsarain’ny fieritreretan’ny olon-kafa?"
30. For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?
30. Si je mange avec actions de grâces, pourquoi serais-je blâmé au sujet d`une chose dont je rends grâces?
30. Fa raha noho ny fahasoavana no andraisako izany, nahoana aho no tenenina ratsy amin’izay anaovako fisaorana?
31. Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
31. Soit donc que vous mangiez, soit que vous buviez, soit que vous fassiez quelque autre chose, faites tout pour la gloire de Dieu.
31. Koa amin’izany, na mihinana na misotro ianareo, na inona na inona ataonareo, dia ataovy ho voninahitr’Andriamanitra ny zavatra rehetra.
32. Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:
32. Ne soyez en scandale ni aux Grecs, ni aux Juifs, ni à l`Église de Dieu,
32. Aza manao izay hahatafintohina ny Jiosy na ny Jentilisa na ny fiangonan’Andriamanitra,
33. Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
33. de la même manière que moi aussi je m`efforce en toutes choses de complaire à tous, cherchant, non mon avantage, mais celui du plus grand nombre, afin qu`ils soient sauvés.
33. Dia tahaka ahy koa, manao izay hahafinaritra ny olona rehetra amin’ny zavatra rehetra ka tsy mitady ny mahasoa ahy ihany, fa ny mahasoa ny maro mba hovonjena izy ireo.
